A Bit About Me

I’ve always felt that I am lacking a geography to sink into; then again I am happy enough being a stranger : I’ve been an outsider nearly all my life.

Saying good-bye so often, my roots have dried up, but I’ve grown others. For the past twenty years I’ve been working on a constant stream of graphics, paintings and illustrations.

I have a BA in Fine Arts and in Fashion Design, and have been working as an art director, graphic designer and illustrator, creating, developing, directing and running projects both for design houses and for myself as a freelancer.

My work looks sweet and naive with a pinch of salt and pepper. I tend to embrace organic, symbolic, wonky and whimsical things but I’m also totally devoted to the simplicity of the Bauhausesque.

I develop original artwork, surface pattern designs, and hand lettering for various formats and products, both hand drawn and digital.

I love old school-traditional botanical designs, folk Nordic art and traditional British textile arts among other things.

I am highly organised. I need to be. I keep my creative chaos very tight and tidy. I feel bored many times, but people say that “ Boredom is the mother of creativity ”.

So I must be doing something right, mustn’t I?
